Herbal soaps are soaps blended with organic ingredients, juice extracts or vitamins from medical plants. Most soap makers use a mixture of herbs like lavender, comfrey and mint. Lavender has antiseptic and anti inflammatory properties. Comfrey can be employed to treat infirmities like broken bones, rheumatism, sprains, stomach and varicose ulcers, bronchial issues, acne, severe burns, and other skin conditions. Mint is used to treat stomach ache and chest pains apart from its exhilarating flavour. Popular soaps include sweet cinnamon, spiced mandarin, rosemary mint, peppermint and others. Tropical fruits may also be used like guava, papaya, cucumber and radish. The possibilities are unlimited. To start, prepare all materials required for the common soap making process. Home made things like plastic pail, Chopping board, wooden ladle or bamboo stick, Mortar and pestle, Glass or cup, Cheese fabric or sieve, Cooking pot ( ideally made from enamel, clay, immaculate or glass ), Knife, Stove and Plastic moulders. A decoction or a product of the herbs should be prepared previously.

For instance, Akapulko and guava leaves may be employed for their anti-fungal and curative features.

The leaves should be washed completely and cut in tiny pieces. It is then boiled using the proportion twelve, one cup of leaves and two cups of water. The blend is boiled for fifteen mins and then strained using cheese cloth or sieve. For the soap, one should prepare five glasses cooking oil, three glasses Akapulko or Guava decoction, cooled, one glass Caustic Soda ( NaOH ), and colouring powder ( this one's optional ).
