Home-made beauty products or organic soaps are an ideal solution to those in need of healthy skin and natural beauty. They are also a good alternative to industrial products that are full of chemicals which may be harsh to your skin.  One of the home-made products you can easily make on your own is organic soap. Organic soap is a good remedy to reactions caused by commercial soaps and other beauty skin care products that are harsh to your body.

One of the benefits of making organic soap is that you have the control of the ingredients you use. Also, in organic soap the ingredients can easily be obtained since most of them are common in our household products while others can be easily obtained from shops. Most of the herbs are readily found in our gardens, but can also be bought from shops that specialize in herbal products. The choice of the ingredients is determined by the kind of organic soap you want and also depending on your type of skin. For instance, if you want organic soaps that are strongly fragrant, you can use eucalyptus extract. If your skin is normally dry, adding or using honey as an ingredient can help to smoothen it while peppermint or tea tree can treat skins that are spotty.

To begin, to make organic soaps, you need to make sure you have everything ready. Depending on the kind of soap you want to make, some of the ingredients you may need to have include lye, honey, peppermint oil, some water, perfumes or eucalyptus for fragrances and some herbs like hibiscus for colors. Remember to be careful when handling lye as it can be irritating to your skin and eyes – you need to have some protective hand gloves and if possible, some goggles for your eyes. You will also need to have soap molds. There are wide varieties of soap molds in terms of sizes and shapes and normally made of wood, metal, plastic or silicone.

Once you have everything ready, pour the lye into a boiling pot and as it heats up, add oils of your choice while stirring, you can as well add your ingredients for fragrances. You can try out different blends to achieve the fragrance of your choice. If you want an organic soap that is soft and exfoliating, you can as well add a small amount of oatmeal at this stage. Once the mixture is completely mixed and heated enough, you can carefully pour it in the molds and let it cool. Make sure there are no bubbles while pouring as this may result to air spaces when the soap cools. To achieve the best result, it is recommended that you give the mixture enough time; normally from 2 to 5 days.

To have the soap in shapes of your choice, you can use different containers of various shapes. You can also mold the soap using hands or cut it using a sharp blade or a tight thin wire. Making organic soap on your own and using it for a long time can result to a healthy skin. At times the results are almost immediate. Natural ingredients, especially from plants have for a long time been used for skin treatment, and so, there's no doubt on how valuable home-made organic soap can be to your skin.
